LINK RENEW Mod
(for Php LinkDirectory from verion 3.xx)
Link RENEW mod is very useful solution for established directories using expiry time unit for payed links.
Modification gives a chance PAYED or expiring links owners to renew their listing in easy and automated proccess.
The mod will work only for those directories that has working function for expiry date.
As a mod developer I could notice in many directories this function is not working as we could expect.
However it is still possible to update expiry date for all featured or other links using expiry term in directory.
Here's what can be done to prepare your directory for using RENEW new mod:
- Update DATE_EXPIRY for featured links based on DATE_ADDED.
- Rebuild function for LINK_UPDATE after payment, so DATE_EXPIRY is correctly set from now.
Once it is done LINKS AUTO-RENEW mod can be installed on directory.
How it works?
- On each PAYED listing detail page you will have new information for link owner
how many days are left to EXPIRY DATE. See example I prepared HERE
- If number of days left is less than 30 additional link to RENEW form will be shown.
- You will have new page with 2 seperate lists.
1. Listings that expired in last 30 days.
2. Listings that expires in less that 30 days.

- Each Featured link owner receives an email with information that his listing expires in 10 DAYS. Email message contains a direct link to listing detail page and direct link to RENEW his listing in easy way.
Here's an example of RENEW form page: Renew Now.
After payment renewed link is autmatically updated and valid for next time unit.

If directory has an option for DEEP LINKS it is also possible link owner can define deep links while RENEW proccess if he didn't do that before (optional).

Link to RENEW form page is unique for each link in directory. If directory uses any other link detail URL rewrite method - it can be also adjusted for RENEW mod.
Installation
Because each directory is different, can use different expiray time unit, different link detail URL rewrite method, offering different unique options - it is not possible to build universal LINK RENEW modification.
For each directory it requires individual installation.
